I'm the director of bio-sciences at the American Council on Science and Health. Before that I was managing editor at the Genetic Literacy Project. I cover topics ranging from science education and communication to public health and biotechnology, and occasionally other issues. Previously I was a science columnist at Mic.com and journalism intern at  Science 2.0.

I'm a regular contributor to BigThink. My writing has also been featured in Forbes and cited by BBC online as well as the Washington Examiner. Several of my pieces were turned into critical thinking exercises for high-school science textbooks by the publishers McGraw-Hill and Pearson Education.
